Grand Strand Green Fair This Sunday!
Written by Suzie Webster

The Green Fair is headed for Myrtle Beach this Sunday, March 21st!  It's been an interesting and challenging experience planning this event in another city with a new partner.  Not being the financial backer of this event has it's pros and cons.  Having struggled for the last two years to cover the expenses of such a large undertaking (we are truly a NON-PROFIT, folks); it's nice to leave the payables to someone else.  However, my financial partner is quite intent on having a profitable Green Fair event, and I do understand this.  There were times when I had to walk the tightrope of my opinions about what is "green" and making sure my event was paid for in the end.

And I will say this for WBTW and The Morning News groups, they have been open to nearly all of my suggestions in order to make this event authentically waste free.  It is a bit hard for me to swallow when I note some of the exhibitors in the Grand Strand Event (I was a bit more of a hard ass and turned down a few questionable  businesses).  For those who wanted to fork over the bigger bucks I did bend a bit, though - so I guess I shouldn't throw stones.  I will say there are quite a few exhibits I am excited to see (and hopefully bring to the Lowcountry).

All in all, I think considering some of the obstacles that have popped up, Myrtle Beach should turn out to be an event I can be proud of.  And afterall, the goal is to reach the average family, the masses, if you will; and add just a bit more sensible green to their day to day lives.

So come up to Grand Park, across from Market Commons and see what's happening in Myrtle Beach!  CLICK HERE for more details on performers and exhibitors!
